If you’re bringing your children, you don’t need to worry, even if they’re picky — the menu also includes chocolate chip pancakes, scrambled eggs, and a kids’ French toast that will cater to palates of all ages.

Denica’s Real Food Kitchen

There’s nothing like a hearty, cafe-style, classic American brunch, and that’s exactly what you’re going to get when you visit Denica’s Real Food Kitchen. Denica’s is particularly popular with families. Though you can’t go wrong with almost anything on the menu, you should try some of the local favorites, such as the strawberry waffles or Pesto Florentine omelet. The kitchen also serves a selection of delicious sweet and savory crepes you can try.

One word of caution: because Denica’s is one of the best places in town, expect long lines if you’re popping by for a weekend brunch. On Saturdays and Sundays, the restaurant opens at 7 a.m. and keeps serving customers until 2 p.m., so if you want to skip the lines entirely, try to get there on the earlier side of that time frame.

As with most traditional American diners, you can’t go wrong asking for one of the the delicious burgers or omelets either.

The Press – Pleasanton

In addition to the variety of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options that this cafe offers, there are a variety of flavorful dishes with reasonable portions that you’ll absolutely love.

Drop by Monica’s Livermore for the best American comfort food, all served in an incredible historic environment by friendly staff who will make you feel right at home. This brunch restaurant is set in an old building that used to house one of the area’s original wineries.

Monica’s prides itself on sourcing local, fresh, and seasonal ingredients, so only the most quality items make it from the farm to your plate. The restaurant serves a selection of baked goods, egg, and griddle dishes. Try the Belgian waffle, the loaded hash browns, or “get fancy” with the indulgent churro, banana nut, salted caramel apple, and berries and whipped cream combination. The Big A$$ French Toast (yes, that is the actual name) is also a local favorite. Not to mention their bottomless mimosas!

The restaurant is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends.

Blossom Bee

This small cafe serves dishes with a Thai twist, so if you want to try something different for your next brunch, drop by Blossom Bee. There are only a few tables, which are mostly in the outdoor area, so many people come by for takeout. However, if you secure a spot, the food is definitely worth it.

Try unique specials such as the Yellow Curry crepe, the Thai Basil Chicken crepe, or the Massaman curry. Locals rave about the strong flavors of this menu, which is why they also don’t mind waiting a little longer on weekends when the line for a Thai-inspired crepe may be out the door.

Blossom Bee is open Tuesdays to Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
